A SEPARATOR is a character or symbol which divides two fields in an ASCII file, or two attributes in ATTRIBUTE_LINES or ATTRIBUTES .

SEPARATOR is identical to the field IFFIELDS-SEPARATOR in the ABAP/4 Dictionary.
