WM: Transfer Order Processing - User Interface
Changes
Description
The user interface for
transfer orders underwent a usability test in our ergonomics
laboratory. The results of this examination made it clear that various changes
in the interface were necessary to make it more user-friendly.
1. The pushbuttons and the commands in the
user interface for creating transfer orders have been changed. Dialog boxes
which warn of data being lost now appear only if data will actually be
lost.
2.
When transfer orders are created for
delivery notes, transfer requirements and posting change notices using
Foreground/Background = " ", as few screens as possible are used.
If, for example, a
transfer requirement consists of only one item, the system skips
over the list of transfer requirement items and branches directly to the
preparation screen. It is possible for you to post on this screen. When a
material remains in the same storage bin during a
posting change (and, therefore, no advantage is to be gained by
the user intervening), the complete posting is carried out in the background.
You can maintain the default values for foreground/background processing in
these transactions using the Customizing application (
"Define transaction parameters" ). When you create transfer
orders, data is also taken from transfer requirements and posting change
notices.
3.
For
stock removals , in addition to the preparation screen for
removing stock (new storage type search sequence), you can also process
materials from the stock overview (new name: stock list). Despite this direct
switch option, the preparation screen "Stock Removal" is still the logical
screen for a stock overview. You can branch into it from the stock overview by
selecting F3.
4. On the preparation screens, it is
possible to post the last material of a transfer requirement or a delivery
note.
5. The pushbutton "Generate + n. Mat." is
context-sensitive in stock removal.
If stocks were chosen or if lines were filled in the preparation field
manually via Customer Exit, only these lines are converted into transfer order
items. If the requested amount is not satisfied, a dialog box appears warning
about the deficit quantity. A dialog box does not appear if the deficit
quantity is the result of a customer exit.
If stocks were not chosen, and lines were not filled, the system attempts to
satisfy the complete amount requested based on the storage type search
sequence for transfer order items, and then it branches to the next
material.
For stock placements, transfer order items are generated according to
predefined palletization and TO item lines which have been filled. If the
requested amount is not satisfied, a dialog box appears to inform you of the
deficit quantity.
6. The functions TO
foreground and TO background have been
renamed.
In the list of transfer requirement items or delivery note items,
Palletization or Storage type search
sequence (according to whether something is being placed into or
removed from stock) replaces TO, Foreground and
Generate TO item replaces TO,
Background .
In the preparation screens, the name of the function is Stock
placement foreground/background or Stock removal
foreground/background.
