QM: Immediate Dynamic Modification for Characteristics

Description

As of Release 3.0, it is possible to carry out immediate dynamic modification for characteristics. You activate immediate dynamic modification in the dynamic modification rule.

You can implement immediate dynamic modification for both lot-based and characteristic-based dynamic modification.

Prior to Release 3.0, the dynamic modification process begins with the creation of an inspection lot. At this point, the system reads the quality level to carry out the sample determination based on the inspection stage. The quality level is also updated at the same time; for example, the counter for open usage decisions is incremented in this way. If a quality level does not exist, the system creates one.

The quality level is updated when a

usage decision is made. At the same time, the result of the inspection is entered into the quality level so that a planned change to a new inspection stage is only carried out now.

Immediate dynamic modification, on the other hand, means that the quality level is updated as soon as an inspection lot is created. In this case, the system assumes that the inspection which has not yet been carried out will lead to an acceptance of the lot or characteristic.

An inspection lot created directly after the quality level has been updated already reflects to the updated status of the quality level; a usage decision does not need to be made beforehand.

If, however, a usage decision is made subsequently, the quality level is also updated for a lot or characteristic with immediate dynamic modification. This is particularly important in the case of a rejection since the planned inspection stage change can then occur. The inspection stage to which the change is made then forms the basis of the sample determination for the next inspection lot.
