If the make-to-order items are not to be assembled till a later point in time and, therefore, the availability situation at the time of order entry is not so critical, you can perform make-to-order without using assembly processing.

In this case, the availability check, delivery date determination and costing are all performed after order entry.

If you do not need accurate information on material availability, schedules or costs at the time you create a sales order, you do not have to use assembly processing to use the Project System.

You can still assign a sales order, such as a sales order, when you create a network. The following applies:

• If you assign a network to a sales order that is settled to a project, you also maintain a WBS element in the network header at the same time. The WBS element must have the same project definition as the WBS element which you entered for account assignment in the sales order.

• If you assign a sales order, that is not settled to a project, you cannot enter any WBS elements in the network header.
