Dangerous Goods Check

Use

In order to fulfill the statutory requirements regarding shipment of dangerous goods, it is necessary to check whether shipments containing these goods are permitted according to agreements made with the countries in which the shipments take place.

Integration

The dangerous goods check applied here is part of the standard dangerous goods management package in the SAP R/3 System.

Prerequisites

The necessary settings must be made in the dangerous goods management section of Customizing. The necessary data must also be available (transit countries must be defined, for example).

You can find further information about these prerequisites in Dangerous Goods Check in Shipment Documents.

Features

You can carry out a dangerous goods check in the shipment document. Depending on your settings, this either happens automatically or can be initiated manually on the Dang. gds tab page in the general header data for the shipment.

If only one of the items in the deliveries grouped to make this shipment is categorized as dangerous, the indicator Contains DG is automatically set. This indicator is only for informational purposes.

Depending on your settings in the dangerous goods management section of Customizing, the overall reaction of the dangerous goods check may cause the Lock indicator DG to be set. In this case, it is not possible to assign another document status.
