QM: Transferring Inspection Results to Batch Classification

The new functionality of batch management in Release 3.0 enables you to find batches by means of the 'characteristic valuations' of general characteristics of a batch class.
To ensure that the inspection results of a quality inspection can also be used for batch determination, you can 'valuate' general characteristics from the batch class automatically using the inspection results. The following requirements must be fulfilled for this purpose:

• a material specification must have been maintained for the corresponding material to be handled in batches. Refer to the release note " QM: The Material Specification as a Planning Instrument" for further information on this.

• The quality inspection must be carried out using the material specification. The general characteristics, for which a link to the inspection characteristics in the material specification exists, are 'valuated' within the inspection completion by means of the mean value of the inspection characteristic.
