Release Procedure

Approval

Up until now, you have benn able to define whether an employee must make a digital signature for certain status changes of an ECR/ECO by using the change type.
As of this release, you can define a comprehensive approval process in which several people have to make a digital signature before you are allowed to make the next processing step.
You define the following in Customizing for this approval process:

• Individual signatures that are used as partial steps in a signature strategy

• Signature strategies in which you group together individual signatures of different user groups into a signature process

• Signature networks in which you allocate one signature strategy to the individual system statuses of an ECR/ECO or an object management record

You choose the signature network for the approval process when you define the change type.

Object Management Record

Under control data in Customizing, you can make settings to determine that a change object can only be processed with reference to one incomplete change order.
If you want to process a change object with reference to a change order, the system checks whether the change object has already been processed with reference to another change order. You can only process the object with reference to the second change order if the first one has been completed (system status).

SAP Business Workflow

You can define workflow tasks for the ECR/ECO in the Workflow Workbench. These tasks are performed when certain events take place.
You can now make the required Customizing settings directly in Customizing for Engineering Change Management.

• Define change types for objects
