Define Individual Signatures

In this IMG activity, you define digital signatures that must be executed by users of a specific authorization group.

You can then use the individual signatures as part of a signature strategy that is carried out in the PI sheet when you sign a processing step or confirm an input value outside the allowed value range.

You need not define individual signatures in the following cases:

• If you use signatures without a password check or signatures with a simple password check in your control recipe destinations (see Types of signature)

• If you use only one signature without a signature strategy to sign processing steps or values in your control recipe destinations

Example

The line operator and shift manager in your company must sign invalid input values. You define the following individual signatures:

• S1 with authorization group OPER

• S2 with authorization group MANA

Further Notes

Individual signatures are also valid in other areas that use the digital signature. Before changing individual signatures or using them for your requirements, make sure that there is no clash of interests with other areas.
