Define Order Confirmations for Inbound Deliveries

If Warehouse Management is decentralized, inbound deliveries are generated in R/3 (which is the ERP system) that are distributed to the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and are then used as a basis for transfer orders during picking.

Up to now, inbound deliveries were either created automatically when shipping notifications were received in the system through IDocs or manually if confirmation control in Purchasing is set accordingly.

If your company does not use shipping notifications or uses them only in rare cases, you can generate inbound deliveries automatically from purchase orders.

In particular, this procedure is necessary for decentralized warehouses, since all inbound deliveries for which a WM transfer order is to be created, are distributed to the WMS.

You can set up your system so that inbound deliveries are only created automatically for plant/storage location combinations for which decentralized processing is activated for the warehouse number assigned.

You can inititate the creation of inbound deliveries by choosing Logistics Execution -> Inbound delivery -> Inbound delivery -> Worklist for purchase orders (VL34).

Activities

1. Check for which warehouse number decentralized Warehouse Management has been activated.
2. Check for which order types inbound deliveries are created automatically.
3. To each combination of order type and plant/storage location, assign a confirmation so that inbound deliveries are created automatically.
