Test
Equipment
You can represent test equipment (production
resources/ tools) according to its purpose, by using different master record
types, such as:
- PRT-master record (production resource/ tool
master record)
You can find the relevant settings for this in
the section Prduction, Basic Data,
Production Resources/ Tools.
Depending on the master record type you use, there are additonal settings for
document master record,
material master record and
equipment master record.
This record contains
the usual administrative data for planning master records as well as
information relating to status, location and if applicable classification in a
PRT group or record. You can use the link to the Classification System to add
additional user-defined specifications.
The PRT master
record can reference document master records; document master records can also
be used directly as test equipment in task lists. An inspector has immediate
access to drawings and other document types using the document management
interfaces to CAD systems or to the ArchiveLink.
If you need to
procure, store or inspect test equipment (general, logistical functions), you
must maintain the material master records for this test equipment.
Batch
If you want to manage individual items or groups of test equipment and
differentiate between them, you can create batch master records in addition to
the material master records. If test equipment is managed in batches, you have
the option of triggering calibration inspections using the
deadline monitoring function.
The equipment master
record contains the comprehensive functions of PM for the monitoring,
maintenance and calibration of test equipment.
- When production orders are released, the
system checks the status of the test equipment, to confirm that it is
available, provided that the equipment has been identified as a production
resource/tool.
- Maintenance intervals are controlled on the
basis of equipment usage.
- If a maintenance deadline is reached, the
system automatically creates a maintenance order.
- Calibration results are stored in a
history.
Further
Notes
The following functions are not currently
contained in the standard system. Make sure you guarantee these functions by
taking organizational measures.
- Status monitoring of test equipment that is
not represented as equipment or a PRT master record
When production orders are released, the system checks the status of the
equipment and PRT master record. For other types of test equipment, you must
make sure that only suitable test equipment is used.
- Capacity monitoring of test equipment
The following is taken into account for orders/ inspection
operations
- Scheduling/ Capacity planning
You can check the
availability of test equipment using a report program that displays the
current use of test equipment in production orders.
- Location monitoring (Checking out and checking
in of test equipment).
