Define Costing
Types
In this step, you specify the technical
attributes for the costing of production lots.
The
costing type enables you to determine the following:
- the basis foroverhead calculation. For this,
enter a
cost component view . The system generates an itemization for
every cost component view, listing the items in the cost estimate.
Example
If there are
semi-finished products in the cost estimate, the costs of which contain the
cost of goods manufactured, sales and administration costs, and so on, you can
calculate the material overhead based on the cost of goods manufactured for
the semi-finished product, by specifying cost component view "01" (cost of
goods manufactured) as the calculation base for overhead. This ensures that
only the cost of goods manufactured is used to calculate overhead, not the
sales and administration costs and so on.
- whether, in respect of semi-finished products
subject to individual requirements included in the finished product,
overhead is calculated using the costing sheet defined in the
production lot.
Requirements
If you want to define your own cost component
views, proceed as follows:
If you use the multiple valuation functions,
you must do the following:
- In Customizing for General
Controlling, check the settings for multiple
valuation.
- Im Customizing for Enterprise
Controlling, check the assignment of the operational valuation
from the currency and valuation profile for the controlling area.
