Define Costing Variants

A costing variant enables you to combine all the control parameters for costing.

The costing variant connects the application to Customizing, in that all cost estimates are created and saved with reference to a costing variant.

The costing variant enables you to determine how a cost estimate is created. For example, it controls how the quantity structure or value structure is structured.

A costing variant for the costing of production lots contains the following:

Note

Although, in theory, costing variants can have the same costing type and valuation variant, this should be avoided as it is possible that data may be overwritten reciprocally.

This is because the data structure for the costing results in the database is based on the costing type and the valuation variant, and not on the costing variant.

Standard Settings

The costing variants in the standard system for SEIBAN cost estimates are PPC5 and PPC6.
