The Inland Revenue will carry out consistency checks on end-of-year returns received. A failure indicates a severe problem and will result in a rejection and possibly a fine.
For this reason, it is recommened to carry out similar checks before submitting the end-of-year return.
The end-of-year check report is available from the payroll menu.
At present the report only checks whether the NI wage types balance. Further checks will be added in future.
