The following enhancements have been made to PE04, the maintenance transaction for processing functions and for Payroll Accounting and Time Management:
1. All tables used to maintain functions and operations for Payroll and Time Management can now be edited via transaction PE04. It is not necessary to maintain the tables using SM30 or SM31 and this is also not advisable in the interests of consistency.
2. Transaction PE04 now has an automatic transport link: Logical transport objects have been created for use in transporting the table entries for a function or operation (including documentation in RPDSYS00). When these objects are imported, the system still triggers generation of the indexed perform and the schema or calculation rule check in the target system. (This takes place in the source system when the function or operation is activated). The logical transport objects are written to the selected transport request when the function or operation is saved. This means that you need no longer transport the relevant includes or place table entries manually on a transport request.
