Process Management: Changes in Release 3.0E

Description

In Release 3.0E, the following changes have been made in process management:

Deactivating process instructions in the PI sheet

You can deactivate process data requests and process data calculation formulas in the PI sheet if no data has been reported for them yet. The effects of this deactivation are as follows:

You can complete the PI sheet although the deactivated process instruction has not yet been maintained.
You can complete the processing steps containing the process instruction by entering your signature. However, you can only set the PI sheet to technically complete.

Assigning values to long text characteristics in the PI sheet

If a long text is to be entered and reported for a process instruction, the icon generally used for text maintenance (document with pencil) is displayed for the long text characteristic in the PI sheet. By clicking on this icon, you can branch to the text editor and enter the long text.

When displaying the PI sheet, you can access the text by displaying the corresponding process message.

Deleting control recipes during order archiving

When a process order is archived, all control recipes and control recipe logs belonging to it are deleted. Before, control recipes and their logs were ignored during archiving.

Note:
Since the control recipe data is also contained in the corresponding process order, control recipes are not included in the archiving lists of process data documentation. Instead, they are deleted as described above.

Transporting characteristic assignments of process instruction categories and message categories

Assignments of characteristics to process instruction and process message categories as well as assignments of message characteristics to destination-specific target fields can now be transported using the standard tools, or copied using the tools for client compare. To be able to successfully copy/transport these assignments, the relevant characteristics must have been created in the target system/client.

Note:
To implement the new function, the tables used so far have to be replaced with the following new tables:

Old table New table Contents
TC50E TC50C Assigning characteristics to
proc. mess./instr. categories
TC50A TC50P Assigning mess. characteristics
to dest.-specific target fields

The key of the new tables contains the characteristic names instead of the internal characteristic numbers used in the old tables. The data conversions required are carried out during system upgrade by the XPRA program RCOCBX01.

Renaming characteristics used in process instruction and process message categories

Note that you may no longer rename characteristics that are used in process instruction and process message categories. If you rename a characteristic, it is no longer assigned to the process instruction or process message category.

Note:
You can use the function "Where-used list for characteristics" to find out which characteristics are used in process instruction or process message categories. You can access this function from within the IMG (Production Planning - Process Industries -> Process Management -> Tools - > Create where-used lists for characteristics) as well as during characteristic maintenance (Environment -> Where-used list).
