Capacity Planning in PS: Capacity Availability
Check
Description
In the capacity availability check, the system checks whether the work
center has enough capacity on the date you need it. You can perform this check
when you create or release a network.
There are two ways to perform this check:
In the network header, select the menu options
Edit -> Availability
-> Capacity.
With Release 3.0E you can now have the system
perform the capacity availability check automatically when
you set the status created or
released in a network. Make sure that the indicator
No check is not set in Customizing for the
Project System under step Maintain control parameters for
availability check.
If you have not created your own overall profile
in Customizing, the system will use the overall profile SAPSFCG013 for the
capacity availability check. The period splits are
week in this profile.
When a network cannot be carried out because
there is not enough capacity, you can reschedule the dates for the network
activity using finite scheduling. The capacity requirements of other networks,
orders operations or activities on one work center within a planning period
(basic load) is all taken into consideration in the capacity availability
check. Before you check your networks for available capacity, you should first
determine the basic load. To do this, carry out report
RCCYLOAD to determine the basic load. Create basic load

checks and on how to determine basic loads, refer to document PP Capacity
