Engineering Change Management: User Status and
Object Management Record
Description
The following enhancements have been made in engineering change
management:
- User status for change master record
Previously, you could only maintain a user
status for an ECR/ECO. This functionality is now supported for change master
records, too.
- You control the user status separately for the change header and the
individual change objects. There is no connection between the user statuses of
the different change objects, or between the user status of a change object
and the user status of the change header.
- The user status is defined using a status profile. In customizing for
engineering change management, you define the status profiles for the change
header and change object. When you process the change master record, you
allocate a status profile to the change header or change object. In each
processing situation, you can determine which user statusese are allowed.
- Creating an object management record for a
material
Previously, when you created an object
management record for a material, there was a system check as to whether a
material master record existed. If there was not master record for the
material, you could not create the management record.
If you schedule a material, only the change
document is created. The material master record is not created until the
scheduled material is activated.
To allow you to create an object management record for a scheduled material,
this check is not made.
Change system parameters in customizing
In customizing for engineering change management, you can define the status
profiles for user statuses:
