Document Management: Additional Checks

Description

The following new checks are made:

Released indicator on basic data screen

When you define a document status (customizing for document management, step Define document statuses ), you can use the released indicator to control whether a document is released for processing in other business transactions.

On the Basic data screen of the document info record, next to the Document status field, an indicator shows whether the document is released. The system checks whether the document has a status for which the released indicator is set.

If the document

You also see the release date. The release date is determined as follows:
If the subsequent version (for example, 02) is released, the release date of this subsequent version (for example, 02) determines the valid-to date of the previous version (for example, 01).
Valid-to date = Release date of subsequent version - 1 day

No renaming of original application file

You can set this indicator in customizing for document management.

If you want to display an original application file that has been saved to the SAP database, a vault, or an archive, the system creates a temporary copy. In previous releases, a name was assigned to this copy according to the naming conventions defined in the program.

Now, you can define that the copy is assigned the name of the file when the file was saved to the secure storage area. This procedure is useful for display programs where the link between the redline file and the viewer file follows naming conventions.

New name for 'Retrieve from archive' function

The new name of this function is Reset original.
The functionality is the same. This function is used to change the storage data of the original application file in the document info record. This data is reset to what it was before you last changed the original application file. No files are transferred.

Change system parameters in customizing

In customizing for document management, you can define that the copy of an original application file is not renamed:
