JIT delivery schedule

SAP Automotive (IS-AUTO)

The JIT delivery schedule serves as a requirements forcast to the day. That is, parts can be called off from the supplier on a daily basis. The JIT delivery schedule allows more detailed planning than a forecast delivery schedule, and is relevant for delivery. Whereas a forecast delivery schedule simply states a quantity, a JIT delivery schedule represents an order, which should then be delivered.

Dependent requirements and reservations are pegged requirements. JIT delivery schedules are created in the MRP run.

Materials Management (MM)

Instrument by means of which a customer informs a vendor which quantities of a material represented by the item of a scheduling agreement is to be delivered at which point in time.

The JIT delivery schedule provides precise information for the vendor relating to the near future. Usually, exact dates or even hours of the day are specified.

Intermediate Document Interface/EDI (CA-EDI)

A release carried out at an exact point in time of quantities in a schedule line (of a delivery schedule).

The JIT delivery schedule is way of fine tuning production for the customer and shipping for the vendor.

The term is used predominantly in the automobile component supplier industry.
