The production plan is created using Sales and Operations Planning (SOP) for the production lot (WBS element). The production lot here represents the quantity of the finished product that is to be produced for a specified period (for example, a week).
You transfer the plan to Demand Management by assigning the production lot number (WBS element).
The planned independent requirement is assigned to an engineering parameter (change number). This enables changes to be made with reference to the production lot.
Material requirements planning is carried out using material BOMs or reference WBS BOMs (a reference BOM is created for every finished product. In Release 4.5A, MRP does not explode reference BOMs; thus reference BOMs cannot be used as of Release 4.5A).
The necessary components are provided to the production lines, whereby pull lists with reference to the production lot number (WBS element) are used and backflushing is carried out.
The products of the production lot are posted from the individual project stock to the plant stock. The planned independent requirements are reduced during this process.
Sales orders are now taken.
You post the goods issue from the plant stock to the sales order.
