Planning Production in an Alternative Plant

Use

Using this function, you can plan the requirements of an assembly in one plant and then actually manufacture the assembly in another plant.

In the planning table, the system provides a separate row for every planning plant that deviates from the production plant. This means that you can process the planned orders in the different planning plants separately and you can also create new planned orders specifically for one particular planning plant.

Prerequisites

Features

In the planning table for the production plant, the system displays a separate row for every planning plant which is ready for input. This applies to the various production lines and to the planned orders which have not yet been assigned. You can process the planned orders in the planning plants and in the production plant or you can create new planned orders.

When you carry out a backflush, enter the planning plant. Then, the system posts the goods receipt for the assembly in the planning plant and backflushes the components from the production plant.

You plan an assembly in plants 0001 and 0002. However, the assembly is only produced in plant 0001. You define in the production version of the assembly that it is only produced on production line 1.

In the planning table for the production plant, the system displays the following rows:

Period 1

Period 2

Period 3

Line 1 for production plant 0001

100

100

100

Line 1 for planning plant 0002

120

When making entries in these rows, the system changes the planned orders of the appropriate plant or creates planned orders in the production plant for the chosen planning plant.
