New R/3 System IM (Investment
Management)
Description
The IM system is a new R/3 module. In 3.0, it is made up of the following
components:
- Capital investment measures
Using this component, it is possible to display
capital investment measures in parallel as assets under
construction for accounting, and as CO internal orders/WBS elements. The full
AuC functionality of the FI-AA (Asset Accounting) System is available:
- final settlement for each individual line item
- management of special depreciation/investment support
- the ability to specify depreciation terms for the depreciation
forecast
- Capital investment program
In a capital investment program, you can manage
and monitor general budgets that bridge a number of projects. A program
consists of positions which are linked in a hierarchical structure. This
structure is user-defined and can correspond, for example, to the areas of
responsibility in your company.
- Depreciation simulation/forecast
For the depreciation simulation within Asset
Accounting, depreciation terms can be entered for capital investment measures
and positions of a capital investment program. You can then include planned
investments in the depreciation forecast.
The component "preinvestment analysis" is planned for a future release.
