Report Interfaces and Navigation

Use

Interfaces are used to link the standard reports for investment programs to other reports in IM and to other R/3 components. These interfaces make it possible to jump from the display of the drilldown report directly to another corresponding report. There you can see the origin of the values displayed in the drilldown. Place the cursor on a line in the drilldown display. Choose the desired report in the menu under Goto ® Measure reports. Or you can choose the appropriate icon in the navigation block.

Features

IM-Internal Report Interfaces

You can jump from a program position listed in some standard drilldown reports for investment programs to the investment measure belonging to it (by double clicking on the program position). The system then shows the same drilldown report (such as, the comparison of plan and budget values) for all investment measures that belong to the program position. In order for this procedure to work, the drilldown report must be defined with investment measure as a characteristic. You can tell that a report is defined with this characteristic if the measure characteristic is in the first position in the navigation block.

You can also display the planning/budgeting line items for the program position, and the master data for the position. You can also jump (under Extras) directly to the master data of investment measures, cost centers, profit centers, and so on, when these objects are being displayed.

IM-External Report Interfaces

In addition to this internal navigation, IM drilldown reports also offer interfaces to other R/3 components. These interfaces enable you to jump

This link to Asset Accounting comes into play when the orders or WBS elements are automatically statistically posted. The system then shows all the assets that post statistically to the given order or WBS element. For more information, see Statistical Budget Monitoring for Direct Capitalization .

User-Defined Navigation

Along with the standard navigation options, you have the option of linking a drilldown report with other drilldown reports. In order to do this, you have to change the definition of these standard drilldown reports (see the Implementation Guide under Information System). Enter the drilldown reports, to which you would like a link, in the definition of the characteristic in one of your drilldown reports (Extras ® Report assignment). The system then displays these drilldown reports in the list display of your drilldown report under Goto ® More reports. When you call up one of these reports from the list, the system starts this drilldown report with the same selections as the original drilldown report, as well as with the selections resulting from lines and columns you have selected.
