QM: Generating Defect Records when Valuating Characteristics

Description

An active link between the rejected characteristics and the defects which have occurred has been implemented in Release 3.0.

If a characteristic is rejected when the inspection results are valuated, the system can supplement the characteristic results with defect records. You can activate this option by setting the control indicator of each inspection characteristic accordingly.

The system generates the defect records either in the background or onli depending on whether default values for the defect code are maintained in the plan.
If default values for the defect codes are stored in the plan characteristic, the defect records are created in the background.
If no default values are available or if additional information is required, you must enter the required data online.

The following default values can be stored in the plan characteristic:

The defect record which is generated automatically is assigned to the characteristic at the sample level and can be displayed for the usage decision.

The defect records are converted to quality notifications automatically and can be processed as such.

Further information on defects recording can be found in the corresponding release information.
