You can insert standard buffers in the line hierarchy to represent small interim storage locations on your production line. Standard buffers are only used for information purposes in the system, and are therefore not included in scheduling.

You can insert a standard buffer directly before each line segment, except the line hierarchy header. You do not have to insert work centers in the line hierarchy for standard buffers.

Select the line segment before which you want to insert a standard buffer, and select the menu path Line segment ® Buffer ® Insert standard buffer.
