Assignment of Valuation Variant for WIP

Here you assign a valuation variant for work in process and scrap (target costs) to a combination of controlling area, results analysis version, and results analysis key.

The only results analysis keys that are relevant here are those used to calculate work in process at target costs.

The unfinished products are valuated using the valuation variant for work in process (WIP) and scrap specified for each controlling area and results analysis key.

Requirements

You have carried out the following steps:

• Maintain controlling area

• Maintain versions

• Define results analysis keys

• Define results analysis versions

• Define valuation method (target costs)

• Define valuation variant for WIP and scrap (target costs)

Activities

The system generates a list with the following information:

• Controlling area

• Results analysis versions

• Results analysis keys

Assign a valuation variant for work in process and scrap to this combination.

Further Notes

You cannot assign the valuation variant for WIP and scrap to a results analysis version that carries data of multiple valuation views. The reason for this is that you cannot carry WIP at target costs in multiple valulation views.

When you settle, you can transfer the calculated work in process to Financial Accounting in accordance with the settings for the line IDs and posting rules.
