Exporting Characteristics for Layout 

Prerequisites

You have selected a class, material, document or functional location in the selection area. Further information can be found under Selecting Objects.

A document is open. Further information can be found under Creating or Opening Documents.

Procedure

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the characteristics in the Office document.

If you use Microsoft Excel, select a data sheet and place the cursor in a table cell.

  1. Highlight one or more objects (for example documents) in the structure overview.

By holding CTRL down and selecting you can highlight more than one object.

  1. Select to export characteristics for layout.

The system places the following based on where your cursor is located in the document:

Description and unit of measure are only exported when you have selected these options. (see also Changing Settings)
