Checking a plan in CO-PA against the plan structure

Description

This function, new for Release 3.0, lets you check whether a plan matches the plan structure to which it is assigned. You can also check partial plans against the corresponding part of the structure (such as the plan for Division A).

In contrast to the online plan check, which merely checks whether or not a planning segment exists in the structure, this periodic function performs a more detailed check. All the plan data must not only exist in the plan structure, but must also be found at the end nodes of the structure. You therefore have to have a complete plan, including top-down distribution of plan data which was first entered at a higher level.

In most cases you should check the plan against the plan structure in the background. You can also run the program online, however, if your data volume is small (such as when you only check part of a plan).

You can execute the function in the test mode or the "actual" mode. If you choose the test mode, the system either displays an error list or a message that the (partial) plan contains no errors.

If you do not choose the test mode, and no incorrect plan data is found, the system marks the (partial) plan as "released" in a status table. If the entire plan is check and no errors are found, the system sets the plan version form "planning not allowed".
