Administration Transaction for Data Media

The basic functions of DME administration can be found in the Administration transaction for data media release note for Release 2.2A.

The following extra functions are supported by the "Data medium administration" transaction for Release 3.0:

• The Payment summary function prints the payment summary for the selected data medium.

• With the Download function, you can copy the data medium on to your PC. It does not matter whether the data medium to be copied was created in the file system or in the TemSe. When writing a file on the disk drives A or B, you can assign a volume label at the same time. To print the respective volume number on your diskette accompanying sheet, include the &REGUD-LABEL& field in the form for the diskette accompanying sheet that you are using.

• The Display DME contents function prints the contents of a data medium or displays it on the screen.

• You can use the Environment -> Generate pmnt advice function to combine all the payment documents from the selected data medium in a single payment advice note. This advice note can be used as a reference aid for checking your bank statement (if you do not use electronic account statements). After you receive your bank statement, enter the appropriate advice note number when clearing with posting. The system will then select all relevant items and propose them for clearing.

In addition to Germany, the following countries are supported by DME administration:

Cross-company code reorganization

When reorganizing your payment run data, you can also delete the DME administration data. To do this, select the Delete administration data function in the Reorganization dialog box.

Note that DME control data is deleted from the system without detail checks. Before a reorganization, you should ensure that the data media affected have been generated and processed by the bank.

You reach the reorganization function in the Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable menu within Financial accounting via Accounting -> Financial accounting -> Accounts receivable or Accounts payable and then Periodic processing -> Payments -> Payment run -> Reorganization

Changes in procedure

You reach the DME admninistration functions in the Accounts Receivable or the Accounts Payable menu within Financial accounting via Accounting -> Financial accounting -> Accounts receivable or Accounts payable and then Periodic processing -> Payments -> Environment -> DME administration.
