Use
You can use item number values to assign parts to a specific group when you evaluate the BOM. Once design is completed, you can assign item numbers on the basis of project, group (all parts that belong together for their own separate group), warehouse factors (parts purchased from specific manufacturers, parts produced in house, supplies, etc.), items (clockwise, counter-clockwise), or other criteria.
You might, for example, specify for the BOM printout that all item numbers assigned a value less than 100 belong to the group of production parts, items with numbers between 100 and 199 belong to the group of parts purchased externally, items with numbers between 200 and 299 belong to the group of standard parts, items with numbers 300 and 399 belong to the group of electrical parts, and all other item numbers belong to a group called ‘Others’. By the way, this is the default AutoCAD setting for BOM printouts, and can be tailored to meet your own individual requirements.

If the drawing comprises several drawing frames, the renumbering function only applies to the frame selected.
