Display/Update

Use

You can use the "Display/Update" function to display an SAP material master record for a selected part in the drawing.

Prerequisites

The part in question must already have a reference to a material master record in the SAP system.

Procedure

When you start the function, the command line prompts you to select an info point in the drawing. If the part does not have a reference to a material master record, you will be notified accordingly and the function will be terminated.

If the part does have a reference, the following dialog box will appear:

Description of the dialog box:

The right-hand side of the dialog box displays fields from the master material record in the SAP system. If the fields are assigned to an AutoCAD attribute in the info point, the contents of the attribute fields in the info point or the position number will be displayed opposite on the left-hand side of the dialog box. If the contents of AutoCAD attribute fields do not match those of the corresponding SAP fields, you can transfer the SAP field contents directly to the AutoCAD attribute fields by clicking the "Update" button. In our example, the content of the SAP "Gross weight" field ("5,000") is written to the AutoCAD "Mass" attribute field. Before you update, you can change the contents of the active fields.

Function

What the function does

Cancel

Terminates the function "Display/Update material master record from the SAP system". No changes are made to the contents of the AutoCAD attribute fields.

Update

Starts the function "Transfer current data of the SAP master material record". If you have made changes in the active fields, these will be written to the AutoCAD attribute fields, but not to the master material record in the SAP system.

If you now start the "Display Material" function a second time and select the same part, you will see that the AutoCAD "Mass" attribute field contains the value "5,000" (which was transferred from the SAP "Gross weight" field).

These changes are only applied to the AutoCAD attribute fields. The SAP field contents remain unchanged.
