Define Item Proposal Types

In this IMG activity, you define item proposal types. Item proposals are technically stored as sales documents. They are controlled by item proposal types which you define as document types. You take over an item proposal by copying it into a sales document.

For information on the defaults concerning a sales document type, see the section "Define sales document types".

SAP Recommendation

If you define your own item proposal types, you should choose keys which start with the letter Z. SAP reserves these name conventions in the standard system.

Default settings

In the standard SAP R/3 System, the item proposal type "SM" is defined, which fulfils the requirements of normal processing for business transactions.

Actions

1. Check to what extent you can adopt the defaults for the item proposal types contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
2. Adapt an existing item proposal type to your requirements.
3. Create a new item proposal type, if necessary.
