Define Exception Rules

In this IMG activity, you define exception rules that you can use later in data collection for the summarization hierarchy or order hierarchy (with classification).

Exception rules cause the variances of summarization objects in a summarization hierarchy to be highlighted by "traffic light" symbols, enabling you to pinpoint particular orders for further analysis. The percentage or absolute threshold values you specify determine when a traffic light of a particular color is shown next to an object.

By specifyng a rule, you store the size which the specification of the threshold values refers to.

Example

Suppose you define the rule basis "Cost variance against plan in percent" and define the threshold value for a yellow traffic light as 10% and for red 30%.

Result:

Standard Settings

The standard system contains a number of predefined rule bases.

Activities

To define an exception rule:

1. Choose New entries.
2. Enter a number for the rule and press F4 to choose a rule basis.
3. Enter a threshold value.
4. Save the rule.
5. You can now choose the exception rule you defined when you execute data collection in the application menu for a summarization hierarchy or order hierarhcy (with classification).
