Names of the Detail Logs (SAP Library - Database Administration (Oracle) with SAPDBA)

Names of the Detail Logs

Every detail log contains a name with the following format: r<encoded timestamp>.<ext>

The first characters indicate the encoded time the restore was performed (action ID). The extension (function ID) indicates the type of the process.

Possible function IDs:

rsa : Restore the redo log files specified by the log sequence numbers (option -a|-archive|-a1|-a2 ).

rsf : Restore a file characterized by its position on the volume (option -n|-number ).
