Input syntax: -a1 [<DBSID>,]<log_no>[=<rest_dir>]|[<DBSID>,]<log_no1>-<log_no2>[=<rest_dir>]|[<DBSID>,]<log_no_list>

If you use this option, BRRESTORE checks the BRARCHIVE summary log to see which volume contains the required archived redo log files (in this case, the first copy of the offline redo log files). Mount the requested volume in the backup device and enter cont to confirm that you want to start the restore.

You can also use this option when you restore archived redo log files from a disk.

• <DBSID> : Only required if the Parallel Server option is used. In this case, the name of the ORACLE instance <DBSID> is included in the BRRESTORE call. Several instance identifiers may occur in one call. All the log sequence numbers listed after a <DBSID> refer to the ORACLE instance with this <DBSID> . If no instance SID appears before the first log sequence number, the log sequence numbers of the redo log files of the local instance are meant.

• <log_no> : Log sequence number to specify the requested first copy of the offline redo log files.

• <log_no1>-<log_no2> : Log sequence number interval to specify the requested first copies of the offline redo log files.

• <rest_dir> : The restore directory where the archived redo log files will be restored. If you do not specify a directory, the archiving directory ( <ORACLE_HOME>/saparch ) is selected.

• <log_no_list> : You can combine any specifications for the log sequence intervals. Separate the individual names with commas (commas only - no blanks!).
