Recovering the Database

Procedure

Select Recover database to recover the database.

SAPDBA tells you:

If sufficient disk space was not available when you restored the archived redo logs, the archived redo log files must be loaded later. SAPDBA automatically deletes the redo logs that have been retrieved from tape and processed in order to make space available. The next redo logs are then restored and the recovery process is continued. You can monitor this process by watching the screen displays.

After successful recovery, the database is opened again.

The recovery process is now complete. The Recover database function is assigned the status finished if the process is successful.

Afterwards, use the SAPDBA function Show/Cleanup ® Show log files/profiles to check the SAPDBA log file <timestamp>.rcv (Directory <ORACLE_HOME>/sapreorg ) .

For more information, see SAPDBA Logs.
