Start Restoring the Archived Redo Logs
During a restore, archives are physically restored with the SAP utility BRRESTORE. If SAPDBA determines that the archiving directory
<ORACLE_HOME>/saparch does not have enough space to restore all the necessary redo log files, the redo logs that have already been used will be deleted and the next required redo logs restored during the subsequent recovery.Select Start restore of archive files.
This option is mandatory when the recovery requires offline redo log files that are no longer in the archiving directory. The recovery cannot be started until the necessary archived redo logs are restored (now or continuously during the recovery).

If you have an OPS configuration, the redo log files of all the instances must be restored to the local archiving directory.
SAPDBA displays the following information on the screen:
The SAP utility BRRESTORE restores the required files.
If the redo logs are still available on disk, they do not have to be restored. SAPDBA flags such files with the comment (
still on disk - not restored ).Select Return to continue with the recovery process. The function Restore archive files is assigned the status finished when the process is complete.
