A reorganization is an extremely complicated process. We therefore recommend that you follow the following procedure:

  1. Considerations Before a Reorganization.
  2. Checking Statistics, to find out if reorganization is necessary.
  3. Changing MAXEXTENTS and NEXT, to prevent reorganization.
  4. Carrying out a Reorganization.
