SAPDBA writes the commands required for the reorganization in scripts contained in the respective work directory. As a result, the operations are transparent for the user (preparation phase). These scripts are processed by SAPDBA in the main phase.
If the reorganization process (main phase) is terminated, you can continue it with the SAPDBA function Restart once the error has been eliminated (see
Restarting a Reorganization). In some cases (if an error occurred before or during the export), you can reset the reorganization process to its initial state with Reset (see Resetting a Reorganization). When required, SQL scripts can also be started manually with Additional functions
® Execute SQL script (see Starting Individual SQL Scripts with SAPDBA).Detailed information about the procedures can be found below for the various types of reorganization. The ORACLE programs export/import are used for the export and import. For information on other export and import methods, see
SAP unload/load, SQL*Loader and Reorganization with CREATE TABLE AS SELECT.
