Management System: Document search in the World Wide Web 
Use
This application allows easy access over the World Wide Web to any documents that are managed by the Document Management System (DMS). You can now search for documents without needing direct access to a SAPGUI for the SAP System.
You can use data you know from the document
info record of the documents or data you know about the environment of the
document.
The following data from the document info record can be used for quick search
results:
- Data from the document info record (meta data)
- Content of original application file (full text search)
- Data from projects that is assigned to the document
- Characteristics values after executing classification
The full text and attribute searches are made possible by using the Index Management Service (IMS).
- IMS is a service with an open program interface for selected search engines. These search engines can be obtained directly from the manufacturer and can be chosen to match your requirements. These you can then install on your computers that has access to the network.
- The connects IMS with the SAP System by means of RFC. You must therefore have an RFC destination and maintain the settings for the R/3 Gatewayin Customizing
- The original application files are in the storage systems of the
- Knowledge Provider Content Server. This server communicates using an HTTP interface. The full text search of IMS allows you to search according to a know character string. Only original application files are checked that stored using the Knowledge Provider in a Content Server.
- Select the fields in Customizing that you want to use in the search process in order to optimize search using attributes.
Processing Options
Search results are presented in a hitlist. You can then process the documents from the hitlist as follows:
- You display the document info record and the linked original application files
- You change the original application file and transfer the data from the web browser to the SAP System
- You create a document
- You start an enterprise-specific process for
a selected document such as a status change.
The checks for the process are determined in the function module for the process.
