WM: Shelf Life Expiration Date

Description

Beginning with Release 3.0, materials with a shelf life expiration date can be managed using the Warehouse Management (WM) system.

For these materials, the shelf life expiration date is established when the goods are received and noted in the quant. Using a new removal strategy, the system ensures that materials with the shortest remaining time before the expiration date will be picked first. In addition, you can print the shelf life expiration date on container and pallet documents and display these materials in a list.

For evaluation purposes, you can use a report to select and list materials in the warehouse that respond to a user-defined remaining time before a given expiration date (SLED control list).

Change system parameters in customizing

To set up the system to manage materials with a shelf life expiration date, you need to carry out the following tasks:

Configure WM System for Shelf Life Expiration Date

Changes in procedure

In a warehouse that is set up for the management of materials with a shelf life expiration date, you must enter the expiration date on the stock placement preparation screen when creating transfer orders.

The system manages the shelf life expiration date in the quant where it can be viewed and changed if necessary.

The shelf life expiration date is displayed in various lists.

To display the shelf life expiration date control list, select Master Data -> Material -> Evaluations -> SLED control list from the WM menu bar.

You should use this report as a batch request for larger quantities of stock.
