This section describes which characteristics you have to assign when defining process instruction categories of the type for R/3 PI sheets.
You must define the following information in a dynamic function call by assigning characteristics:
The characteristics must be assigned in the sequence described in the corresponding section. You determine the sequence of the characteristics using a sort number.
When a process instruction is created, the characteristics of the process instruction category are copied to the process instruction. You can, however, change or delete characteristic assignments in the process instruction.
Characteristic values with general information, such as the function module to be called, can be assigned in the process instruction category. Process-specific values, such as the names of constants to be transferred, can be added in the master recipe or in the process order.
Define Characteristics for Process Instructions
The standard system contains dynamic function calls that you can use to carry out the following functions within the R/3 PI sheet:
For more detailed information on the individual functions, see the documentation of the corresponding function module.
If the value of a characteristic can be assigned automatically in the control recipe or the process order, indicator A (automatic value assignment) is displayed for this characteristic in the instruction category. In the field help for this indicator, you will find information on the value assignment function used for the characteristic.
