In this step you make system settings to enable you to use product drilldowns in your production system.
Product drilldowns are executed on the basis of characteristics (such as plant, material, or order type) and key figures (such as planned costs, target costs, or actual costs).
In contrast to the other reports in the information system for Product Cost Controlling, product drilldowns do not show the cost elements. Instead they show the cumulative data for the plant, product group, material number, and so forth. From this cumulative view you can move through the levels of the report interactively.
The product drilldown allows you to define two different types of reports:
Basic reports determine the column structure of the report at the time the report is defined. Form reports are based on a row and column structure that is predefined by the definition of the form.
