Enhanced Storage Location Determination for Components
Scope of Functions
In addition to the logic used previously to determine a storage
location in a production order (storage location from the supply area
in the work center assigned to the operation, storage location from the
BOM, storage location from the material master), storage location determination from repetitive manufacturing has now also been
implemented in the production order.
Storage location determination from repetitive manufacturing is
executed in the production order if the following requirements have been met:
- A production order has been created for a production version.
- An MRP group has been entered in the material master for the finished product.
- The MRP group has a strategy for storage location determination.
- For the respective components, a storage location could not be
determined from the supply area in the work center assigned to the operation.
- For the respective components, a storage location could not be determined from the BOM.
The advantages of this new method of determining a storage location are as follows:
- Storage location determination is the same as in the planned order
(with the exception of the storage location from the supply area in the
assigned work center, which is not supported in the planned order)
- In general, the storage location of the finished product can be copied (this was previously not automatically possible)
