Executing Functions in the Project Builder

In the Project Builder, you can execute most functions using several methods.

Execute Function via

What You Should Know

Drag & Drop

This technique enables you to move or copy objects from one screen area to another. Simply select an object and drag it, keeping the mouse button pressed, to the position where you want to insert it. (The prerequisite is that it is possible to insert the object at the relevant position.)

It is possible to use Drag & Drop in the following directions:

Worklist ® Structure tree

Templates ® Structure tree

Structure tree ® Worklist

Structure tree ® Templates

Pushbuttons

The pushbuttons in the work area are context sensitive, which means that are only those pushbuttons are displayed that are required at the present stage of processing.

Above the structure tree, again only those pushbuttons are active whose functions can be executed at the current point of time.

For more information and an overview of the pushbuttons, see Working with the Project Builder.

The context menu

You can call up the context menu, for example, by clicking with the right-hand mouse button on an object. This menu is object-specific in all screen areas, which means, that only the functions that you can execute for that type object are displayed.

Click/double-click on an object

(Structure tree, worklist)

  • Click in the structure tree: The detail screen for the selected object is opened in the work area.
  • Double-click in the worklist: The selected project data are loaded in the structure tree and work area.

The menu bar

The menu functions only apply to work area and not to the structure tree, worklist, or templates. Exception: The moving of object up and down in the hierarchy also affects the structure tree. .
