lot-based
dynamic modification
Definition
Identifies the level at which the decision for
inspection stages is made and the quality level maintained.
Use
If the field for the dynamic modification level
in the task list header does not contain an entry, the inspection scope is not
dynamically modified for an inspection with a task list.
For dynamic modification of the inspection
scope to occur, you must define a dynamic modification level and assign a dynamic modification rule to the relevant
objects.
You have the following options:
- Lot-based dynamic modification at the
level of the material and inspection type
The decision concerning the next inspection stage is made dependent on the
inspection lot valuation. The dynamic modification rule is defined in the
inspection type for the material. An inspection plan is not required. However,
if you inspect with a task list, you can maintain a quality level for each
inspection type, even if the same task list is already used.
- Lot-based dynamic modification at the
level of the material and task list
The decision concerning the next inspection stage is made dependent on the
inspection lot valuation.
The dynamic modification rule is defined in the task list header; the rule
then applies to all inspection characteristics.
- Characteristic-based dynamic
modification at the level of the material and inspection plan
characteristic
The decision concerning the next inspection stage is made dependent on the
inspection lot valuation.
The dynamic modification rule is defined in the task list for the inspection
characteristic. You have the following options for assigning a dynamic
modification rule:
- You define dynamic modification rules in the
inspection characteristics for the task list.
- You define numbers of controlling
characteristics in the inspection characteristics for the task list to which
you have assigned a dynamic modification.
- You enter a dynamic modification rule in the
task list header. This appears as a default value when you add inspection
characteristics in the task list.
Dependencies
Note the following dependencies:
- Lot-based dynamic
modification
The valuation rule for lot-based dynamic modification is specified in
Customizing in the settings at client level. The valuation rule in the standard
system is as follows:
- If an inspection with a task list is specified
for a material with recording of characteristic inspection
results, a worst-case principle applies. The dynamic modification
valuation is "accepted" as long as no inspection characteristic was
rejected.
- If an inspection with a task list is specified
for a material without the recording of characteristic inspection
results, lot-based dynamic modification is performed based on the
usage decision.
- Characteristic-based dynamic
modification
Dynamic modification
at the characteristic level is only possible if the inspection setup for the
material supports the recording of characteristic results.
If the task list calls for dynamic modification at the characteristic level
and the material is not set for the recording of characteristic results, no
dynamic modification is carried out. The quality level is not
updated.
