Executing Mass Changes Directly 
Prerequisites
You want to execute mass changes without an optical check.
If you do want to check the intended changes, proceed as described in
Executing Mass Changes with Table View.Procedure
Executing Mass Changes
1. From the Operative Structures menu choose Tools ® Mass change ® Execute.
The first time you call up the function, the Enter Profile dialog box appears. The next time you work with mass changes, this profile will be used automatically. For more information on the database profile, see
Profiles in the Information System.
2. Enter a data base profile and choose Continue.
3. On the selection screen enter selection criteria for the projects and/or networks that you want to change.
4. Choose Enter field values for mass changes.
The Mass changes: Field view screen appears.
5. Select the tab page of the object that you want to change, for example the tab page for WBS elements.
The field selection screen appears.

If the field selection does not appear automatically, choose Select fields.
6. Select the field that you want to change and choose Continue.
You return to the tab page.
7. Enter the new value in the selected field.
You can choose whether the system replaces all values of the field with the new value or

If you leave the field blank, the system deletes the contents of the field when the mass change is executed. You can use this feature, for instance, to delete assignments to other objects.
8. To select further fields, proceed as in steps 6 and 7.
9. For the objects, repeat steps 5 to 8.
10. At this stage there are the following options:

Executing Mass Changes in the Project Information System
You can execute mass changes in either the structure overview and or in one of the individual overviews. The following is the procedure for the structure overview:
1. From the Project Information System screen choose Structure/dates ® Structure overview.
2. On the selection screen enter selection criteria for the projects and/or networks that you want to change.
3. Choose Extras/environment ® Mass change
The Mass changes: Field view screen appears.
4. Select the tab page of the object that you want to change, for example the tab page for WBS elements.
The field selection screen appears.

If the field selection does not appear automatically, choose Select fields.
5. Select the field that you want to change and choose Continue.
You return to the tab page.
6. Enter the new value in the selected field.

The mass changes are executed.
Result
When the system has finished the mass changes, a log appears. If the system could execute the changes, you can see information in the log about every object that was changed . You can display the log with one line for each entry, which is a simple confirmation, or with two lines with more details for each entry.
If the system could not execute some changes, because fields did not meet the prerequisites, the entries are highlighted in red.
You can save the log when you exit. You can then call it up again later. To do so, choose
