Definition
This indicator registers to what extent the
object maintenance transaction provides support for transport. The following
settings are available:
- No transport
The maintenance transaction is not linked to transports. An object can only be
transported if all components of the object (individual table entries) are
placed in a change request using the request editor.
- Manual transport
The object maintenance transaction offers a manual link to transports. You can
branch to it by selecting the Transport menu option.
In the transport session, you can then select objects to place them in a
Change request. A special transport program may be available instead of the
menu option Transport , to place the object in a
change request. The setting Manual transport means
that changes to the object are not automatically recorded. If the maintenance
transaction offers an automatic transport link, in addition to the manual one,
you should select the setting Automatic transport
.
- Automatic
transport
The maintenance transaction is automatically linked to transports. The system
notes all changes to objects (insertion, modification or deletion) in a change
request. To automatically record changes to client-specific objects, the
option for automatically recording changes has to be active.
In addition to the automatic transport link, the maintenance transaction also
provides a manual transport link. Transport not
required This setting is only allowed for dummy objects; it
means that the subobject transactions for the object do not make any changes
that have to be transported.
