Create by copying

Use

You can use existing WBS elements and activities as templates to create other WBS elements and activities. You can store project elements that you use as templates frequently in the Templates screen area. As templates you can use WBS elements and activities that come from

For information on how to copy project objects to the Templates screen area, see Saving Project Objects as Templates.

Features

Choose or Create in the context menu of the table area.

On the left-hand side of the screen a separate Templates window appears, in which there are the groups.

Here you can find all possible project objects (Project definitions, WBS elements, networks, activities etc.). For information on how to create new objects, see Creating Project Objects.

Here you store existing operative project elements (WBS elements and activities) that you want to use as templates.

Here you store standard project definitions, standard WBS elements and standard networks that you want to use as templates.

Here you store WBS elements and activities from simulation versions that you want to use as templates.

There are various options for copying objects from the templates to the current project:

Using Drag & Drop

  1. In the Templates screen area, select the project object (for example, standard WBS element or an activity in a simulation version).
  2. Keeping the left-hand mouse button pressed, drag the project object to the required position in the table area.

If you use drag & drop to create project objects, the new object is always subordinate to the object it is positioned after in the project hierarchy.

Using Double-Click or the Context Menu

The following table describes how you create project objects by copying with a double-click or by using the context menu.
