Calculate
Valuation Basis with Higher Value
Personnel calculation rule XALP is used to process wage type /001
(valuation basis 1).
1. Personnel
calculation rule XALP ensures that an employee is not paid less than his/her
basic wage in any alternative performance-based payment.
A comparison with the employee's basic salary (master valuation basis) is used
to determine whether the value of the valuation basis for the different
payment (valuation basis with ALP split) is greater than or less than the
value of the master valuation basis.
If the value of the master valuation basis is greater than the value
calculated for the different payment, then the value of the master valuation
is used as a basis for further accounting.
If the value of the master valuation basis is less than the value calculated
for the different payment, then the value of the valuation basis with ALP
split is used as a basis for further accounting.
2. With the
help of personnel calculation rule XALP, processing is effected for a premium
and the extra pay indicator, if it is specified for a different
payment.
Three steps are processed for personnel
calculation rule XALP:
1. In the first
step, wage types /001 (valuation basis 1) are generated in table IT for the
basic salary and for the records with a different payment (valuation basis
with ALP split).
2. In a second
step, the valuation basis with ALP split is compared with the master valuation
basis, and the results are valuated.
The system determines whether a premium has also been specified for the
different payment. Personnel calculation rule XALQ is accessed for this
purpose and then reads table T510P (premiums). The resulting values are
processed in the personnel calculation rule.
3. Finally,
function ZLIT summarizes the entries in table ZL and
their corresponding wage types and writes them to table IT.
Example
1. Calculate a
higher valuation basis
An employee works for one day in another position which is recorded via the
window Different Payment in infotype 2003
Substitutions.
The employee's normal hourly wage is $12 an hour. However, the other position
is only paid at the rate of $10.50 an hour. To ensure that the employee does
not lose money because of this work center substitution, personnel calculation
rule XALP is used to ensure that the employee's normal salary is used as the
basis of the calculation.
2. Premiums
In the standard SAP R/3 System, calculated premiums are written directly to
valuation basis /001.
In personnel calculation rule XALQ, however, you can also specify rules to
determine, for example, that a premium must not be greater than 10% of the
master valuation basis.
Requirements
1. Wage type
/001 (valuation basis 1) must be set up.
3. Before you
modify personnel calculation rules, you must have a sound knowledge of how
personnel calculation schemas, personnel calculation rules, functions and
operations are used.
Standard
Settings
The personnel calculation rules mentioned above
are part of standard calculation schema XT00
Recommendation
Initially, you should use the settings in the
standard SAP System. If you want to make changes, you should use the existing
personnel calculation rules as a model.
Activities
1. Check that
personnel calculation rules XALP and XALQ meet your requirements
2. If
necessary, adapt personnel calculation rules XALP and XALQ so that they meet
your requirements
